UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake who is currently in remand custody arrived at the Parliament today (Jan 21) in a prison bus. The MP tried to make a special statement in Parliament but was denied the opportunity.
However, he expressed his views during the debate on the provisions of the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Act that took place in Parliament earlier this evening.
“I ask forgiveness from everyone involved including Hirunika Premachandra. I didn’t make these revelations intentionally. That was done by a channel dealing with drugs. I will table the recordings hidden by the government in parliament today. No one will have a way out now. I also have a phone conversation between Arjun Aloysious, who was involved in the Central Bank bond scam. I also have a conversation where he offers me money. I saw how the Prime Minister said that a commission should be appointed. Double salute to you. Appoint one if you can. I will attend the commission proceedings carrying files. I have voice recordings of him as well. When I was released from a court case that was filed when I acted in “One Shot”, he called and told me that I was released because of him and that I’m being ungrateful. I have the recording of that as well. He is a state leader. So even with all of that, he wanted to watch my movie “One Shot” Who joined him to watch the film? It was Muthuhetti from parliament. Where was the movie screened? At Cine City. With Sangeetha’s husband, Priyantha Kariyapperuma. It was on the same day, Lakshman Kadiragramar was killed. There is no issue in even murdering me. I have these stored in hard disks in foreign countries. So I tell Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa once again, appoint a commission and I will attend them with files. But I don’t have voice recordings of Gotabaya Rajapaksa. I have around 6 – 7 voice recordings of Mahinda Rajapaksa. Certain cabinet ministers scolded me. But I have recordings of their wives asking me to come home and reveal all of these to the country. The horoscope of a wife of a minister predicts that whoever marries her, will someday be a prime minister. So the wife was divorced to marry her. Do you know who that is? In the recent past, I spoke about a house they have in England. They tried to attack me for it. I then showed the deed. And then the minister said he bought the house so he can enroll his children in school. I can assure the parliament that a case will not be filed against this. Because if they do, it will be disadvantageous to them. Commissions won’t be appointed for this. Believe me, if you want. Because I no longer care. Why do I need the character certificates written by thieves? Is there anyone who is eligible to give a character certificate to someone else? There are around 75 with sand permits. And around 100 with bar permits. 4 can bring down Ethanol while 2 can bring down drugs. There’s one who is engaged in horse races. Am I to accept character certificates from them? I have the list of things the people should know about the voice recordings. Is Kanchana here? Kanchana was also one of my spies. There are voice recordings of Thilanga Sumathipala and match-fixing. There’s something none of you know. Who bombed Shahruk Khan when he was in Sri Lanka? Gammanpila knows. You can ask him. If by any chance Shahruk Khan gets killed, they would still be attacking us.”
Responding to this State Minister Nimal Lanza noted that the woman who came in search of a state sector job was called to his place to fulfil his personal desires. He questioned MP Ramanayake if he is denying that he didn’t ask Piyumi Hansamali. He added that certain journalists had to leave their jobs, some families are broken, and some women were encouraged to commit suicide. He added that MP Ramanayake is now facing the consequences of recording these conversations in an uncivilized and indisciplined manner, without the consent of the other person.
MP Ranjan Ramanayake answering this noted that he did not release these recordings to the media. He stressed that they were saved in personal storage and the Police released these recordings to the media.
Meanwhile, State Minister Kanchana Wijesekara confronted MP Ramanayake’s statement saying that the State Minister served Ranjan as a spy. Apologizing to the State minister he said he respects him and that he was not a spy.
