terms of reference of this Commission were to inquire into and
report on the following matters. :-
1.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people as a result of political developments from the beginning of the colonial era to the present day with special reference to the effects of the political party system,
2.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people by political parties and groups whose political programs are based on communalism and separatist ideologies and concepts,
3.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people as a result of the implementation of the Waste Lands Ordinance, Buddhist Temporalities Ordinance and other related laws with special reference to the dispossession of their ancestral lands in the plantation areas,
4.Injustices caused to the Kandyan peasantry since 1815.
5.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people as a result of the grant of Sri Lankan citizenship to Tamils of recent Indian origin.
6.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people from colonial times to the present day by various agencies, both local and foreign, including non-governmental organizations(N G O s) through policies and activities aimed at undermining their culture and traditions.
7.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people as a result of educational policies and practices adopted by the authorities from colonial times.
8.Injustices caused to the Sinhala youth as a result of political developments and educational systems implemented by successive governments since independence.
9.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people by the misuse of the communication media.
10.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people as a result of their language being denied the foremost place due to it.
11.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people by political and other developments that have resulted in the denial to them of their legitimate rights in the sphere of trade , commerce and employment.
12.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people by their forcible ejectment from the Northem and Eastern provinces.
13.Injustices caused to the Sinhala people as a result of successive governments implementing foreign policies inimical to their interests.
14.Any other matters which in the opinion Of the Commission have resulted in injustices to the Sinhala people.
